David Eckhoff is an Assistant Professor at the Chair of Computer Networks and Communication Systems at the University of Erlangen. He received his Ph.D. degree in engineering (Dr.-Ing., with distinction) and his M.Sc. degree in computer science (Dipl.-Inf. Univ., graduating top of his class) from the University of Erlangen in 2016 and 2009, respectively. From June to July 2016 he has been a visiting scholar at the University of Melbourne in the group of Prof. Lars Kulik. His research interests include privacy concerns in vehicular networks, ITS simulation, lower layer modeling, and safety applications in Car-to-X environments. He coordinates the study program "Computer Science in Automotive Engineering" and lectures on Vehicular Communication at the University of Erlangen.
